Frequently Asked Questions

Q:What kind of payment do you accept?
A:We accept all major credit cards, bank account wiring, cash, money orders/cashiers checks. Money orders and cashiers checks take 7-14 business days to clear. All payments are non-refundable.

Q:Do you accept deposits?
A:Yes, we do accept and encourage deposits. Deposits are $500. A deposit ensures your puppy will not be sold to anyone else. All payments are non-refundable for any reason.

Q: Why do Bulldogs cost so much?
A: There is a great deal of time and money involved in selecting a genetically healthy and phenotypically superior pair, having them bred, delivering and caring for the pups until they reach 8 weeks of age. They generally have small litters. This is a breed which requires artificial insemination, a c-section birth, and constant monitoring of the pups (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

Q: Do Bulldogs really need a c-section?
A: Yes, all of our deliveries are by c-section. To attempt a natural birth on your own could result in the death of your female as well as her puppies. You should never attempt this without the assistance of your veterinarian.

Q: Will my Bulldog need a special vet?
A: We recommend that your vet is experienced in dealing with French/ English Bulldogs. Some vets may not understand the special needs of the French/English Bulldog. We strongly recommend that you interview your vet about his/her understanding of the breed.

Q: What is the difference between a Bulldog and an English Bulldog?
A: The English Bulldog is registered in the United States with the American Kennel Club as "Bulldog". "Bulldog" is the correct term for the breed. The Olde English Bulldogge is much larger, have a longer nose, and tail than the English Bulldog. The English Bulldog is shorter in stature, have the screw tail, stub nosed and at maturity weighs around 45 - 50 lbs. We refer to them as the English Bulldog so as to help identify them more easily than the Olde English Bulldogge, American Bulldog, Bull Terriers, Bull Mastiffs, etc. See the AKC guidelines on the for more detail or see Page for photos.

Q: Should I get a male or a female?
A: Gender of the pup is purely a personal preference. Each person has their own personal feelings about the intelligence, trainability and affection of each gender.

Q: Does the Bulldog make a good family pet?
A: You bet! The Bulldog is affectionate, gentle, very sociable, loyal, and good listeners. Once you have owned a Bulldog, there is no other pet that will compare to his loyalty. (Special Note: As with any pet you should always consider and be watchful of very small children. Pets do not mean to cause harm, most times, but in their excitement and enthusiasm, may knock over small children.)

Q: What is the oldest age my Bulldog might reach?
A: The average lifespan is around 10-12 years. Of course, a balanced diet, regular exercise, regular checkups, and good living conditions, just as with us humans, can help increase this time frame.

Q: What about grooming?
A:You cannot grooming bulldog, they have super sensetive skin and cannot wash very often, please read all our recomendations

Q: What about spaying/neutering?
A: Consult with your veterinarian. Spaying/Neutering have great benefits for the dog, if done early in life. Always practice good breeding habits. Don't allow a female to breed without having plans on placing each pup in the best home you can find. No one deserves to be homeless or live a short life in a shelter.

Q: When should my dog be vaccinated?
A: Your new puppy will have all of his/her first shots and wormings. We will provide you with the shot records. Take this record with you to your first vet appointment. Your vet will make recommendations and schedule all follow up boosters. See page for more detail.

Q: Can my Bulldog live where the temperatures are very hot or very cold?
A: Yes, just as we make adjustments for ourselves, our Bullies will also need to live in comfortable conditions. Bulldogs should always be indoors, where it is air conditioned, in summer temperatures that reach over 80 degrees. Keep plenty of fresh, clean water available for them. When going on walks take along a water bottle for them as well. Winter temps don't seem to affect the Bully as much but you should still have comfortable temps just as you would for yourself.

Q: How long does a heat cycle last?
A: Usually 21 days from start to finish.

Q: How do I know I am getting a healthy puppy?
A: Make sure you are dealing with a breeder that cares for the health and quality of the puppy. Ask for a contract that specifies the details, such as the health guarantee, pedigree, and the care for the puppy. Get referrals of past Customers. You should receive a healthy, well socialized puppy of even temperament. A reputable breeder should have no problem providing these things to you.

Q: I work full time and so does my spouse but we want a bulldog.
A:Bulldogs are like most animals, they want to be with their masters. They love people and think they are people themselves. A bulldog does not want to be home alone 10 hours a day crated or caged off-would you? Bulldogs do well in families where one of the members are home most of the day or the person may work from home. Much like a human baby would need to be treated. I am not familiar with the long term effects of doggie day care. Are know there are facilities like this out there and perhaps your dog would do well as long as they have lots of stimulation. I would worry about the exposure to stranger dogs in regards to germs and parisites.

Q: Is shipping harmful for a bulldog?
A:As long as the weather is not too warm and the flight does not have many layovers. I have had great experiences shipping and receiving animals from other states. It is a nice way to get bloodlines from other areas. Careful planning and preparation will ensure a safe and easy journy for a puppy. I ship pups based on each pups personality and how well I think they can handle the trip. I do not ship before 8 weeks and sometimes wait until 10 depending on the pup.

Q: How do we get considered to be adoptive parents for one of your pups?

A:Well, people usually email me with an initial inquiry. I respond and we usually email back and forth. If they get past the "how much is the pup" stage and agree with the prices I set, then we discuss how the prospecitve family is educated in bulldog-ease. I know this sounds like money is the most improtant thing but once the person knows the pups is not dirt cheap they usually move on. I find that the people who have done their homework and want a quality pup know what they are getting into. They will be the families that will be able to invest the time and money in making a quality home for the new pup. I also refer people to bulldog rescue if they are earnest and I feel they can meet the challenge of bulldog maintinence. Once we have gone over bulldog care, medical costs and home setting we can both decide if the bulldog is right for you. I do not do home studies. I have found that if someone has made it this far in the process they are offering a good home for a bully.

Q: I want a bulldog but I live in an apartment.
A:Bulldogs do very well as apartment dwellers as long as the new owner is ready for the cleanup duty. I do strongly caution anyone with a new baby bulldog to keep them away from dog parks and other areas where sick animals may have been. New babies do not have all their immunity and can pick up parvo or distemper in grass or areas sick animals have been.

Q: What do puppies eat?
A:For right now puppy eat Science Diet food small bites for puppy, but please make soft with boil water
